Jess Aarons' greatest ambition is to be the fastest runner in his grade. He's been practicing all summer and can't wait to see his classmates' faces when he beats them all. But on the first day of school, a new girl boldly crosses over to the boys' side and outruns everyone.
That's not a very promising beginning for a friendship, but Jess and Leslie Burke become inseparable. Together, they create Terabithia, a magical kingdom in the woods where the two of them reign as king and queen, and their imaginations set the only limits. Then one morning a terrible tragedy occurs. Only when Jess is able to come to grips with this tragedy does he finally understand the strength and courage Leslie has given him.

THis book is great, but it is SO sad!
This a great story about the friendship between a boy and a girl, and the problems both of them face in their lives. They create a fantasy world in the woods, and learn a lot about themselves through the process. As a warning, it has a very sad ending.
full of emotions. and watch the movie
i love jess and leslie's frienship.i love how they are so honest and how they are really great friends even though jess is kind of poor leslie still likes him.
Jess(e) wants to be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. He practices every morning, before he has to go milk the cow. He lives on a farm with four sisters and their parents. One day when new neighbors move into the house next door, he meets Leslie, their 10-year-old daughter. After a few days, they become friends and they want to make a place where only they can go, and that only they know about. So they create Terabithia, a “magical” world with a castle built out of a few pieces of wood, that they swing across a creek on the rope to access. They are the king and queen of Terabithia, and that is their spot to talk and hang out. When the rain starts pouring for days, Terabithia becomes harder to enter. In a tale woven of friendship, magical worlds and loss; Bridge To Terabithia is a lovely story that involves lots of imagination. My thoughts: Bridge to Terabithia was a very imaginative story. The friendship in this story is unbreakable, and bond between Jess and Leslie grows stronger as the story goes along. I love how they just make this world where they are the rulers, and fight off enemies and speak in old english. It’s just so creative. Also getting across the creek with a rope; how awesome is that!?! I want a Terabithia in MY backyard! The setting for this story was great too. It is set back in the day, with “fancy, old language” such as, “Yes, ‘m.” I think that is just funny; I love the way they used to talk back in the olden days. The ending is soooooooo sad If you like classics, this is a great book.

This book is another one of the books I don't like. According to one of my books, this book has once been wanted out of libraries. I think this story is too imaginative, not that I think that having lots of imagination is a bad thing. But, the writer seems to think of death as a not-so-sad thing. And I'm pretty sure its a most horrible thing. Too bad for the writer, I don't like this story. J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books are one of the best fiction books ever written. This? One of the worst, in my opinion.
Don't worry, everyone has opinions. No biggie.
