"The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

I read this book awesome

Harry Potter has been one of my favorite book series and I was excited to read Cursed Child. It was disappointing, to say the least. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years after the Deathly Hallows, where young Albus Potter is starting school, facing pressure from his family and the wizarding world. It's written in a play format which takes some getting used to. There were so many plot-holes, so many contradictions, and the characters felt like they were written by someone who had the vaguest idea about Harry Potter. The characters do all of these crazy things that mess up already established content and it's so frustrating. The ending was the worst and if you've read it, you'll know what I mean. This book was unnecessary and ruined the ending of The Deathly Hallows. The future generation of Harry Potter and his friends should have been left to the audience's imagination, and in my mind, this book doesn't exist.

I agree. I don't like the play format at all. I thought it was me, but I know I like the actual series and this book was nothing lke it. When I read your comment, I new I wasn't alone.

I agree with you aswell. But remember, other people wrote it with her so they could have changed something.

I agree! J.K. Rowling collected so many beautiful, creative plots for her stories. But... Now, I feel as if she only wrote this book for the sake of Harry Potter fans. I would have loved to have been left to imagine the life of Harry's children, and not to have been given a different, more confusing story to picture in my head. Honestly, I was excited for all of the Harry Potter books. Since J.K. Rowling hadn't written any new books for so long, I was amazed that she decided to continue the series. I was so ecstatic to finally know how the story would end, or at least continue. But this wasn't it! This wasn't how the story was supposed to go, or at least in my mind. I know that so many people love this book, and I definitely respect that, but something was off about this book. It is possible that I need to revisit the series, review the characters, and refresh my mind with the latest books, so I ended up being confused for this one, but I do believe that this book didn't - by far - compare to the previous books. Please, don't think that I don't enjoy the series, though, because I really did.

J.K Rowling didn't write this.

I was super disappointed. I just think the plot is nothing like the Harry Potter world we all know and love. So much about Cedric Diggory, but nothing about Fred. This book ruined my favorite series.

I am very disappointed in this book. It is the only flaw I can find in the harry potter series. I recommend you pretend it isn't part of the series. Don't let it ruin harry potter for you.

This book was really good and if you love Harry Potter, this book is for you! In this book, you read the story of Harry Potter's son. It was written the way the play went, so you could really feel yourself being part of the adventure. I hope you enjoy it!
