Jason has a problem. He doesn't remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she's his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they're all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids." What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea-except that everything seems very wrong.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he's in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn't recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?

Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What's troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper's gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all-including Leo-related to a god.

Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson series, pumps up the action and suspense in The Lost Hero, the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series. Fans of demi-gods, prophesies, and quests will be left breathless--and panting in anticipation for Book Two. The accessible and dramatic cover art by graphic novelist Nilah Magruder will attract a new generation of readers.

I liked this book a lot. It is a great sequel series to the Percy Jackson series. It is action packed and,a notch better than the first series. Try it out.

Can you believe that kids who have extraordinary powers exist in the world? This story is about Leo who is a son of Hephaestus,Jason who is a son of Zeus, and Piper who is a daughter of Aphrodite go on a quest to rescue Piper's father from a giant called Encleadus. They also try to free Hera the goddess of marriage, from a cage at the Wolf House, which is sacred to the Romans, and also try to stop Gaea, the earth goddess from waking up Porphyrion who is the king of the Giants who wants to destroy the gods and Mt.Olympus.At first I didn't know what the author meant when it said that "Even before he got electrocuted,Jason was having a rotten day."But as I kept reading,I got that he got zapped by a storm spirit.

This is the first book of the Heroes of Olympus series by RIck Riordan (his name may sound familiar if your read the Percy Jackson series and the first book of 39 Clues). There is a prophecy and this book focuses on three of the seven of the prophecy. The three are Jason, Piper, and Leo. This book was really interesting, and not only is it a thrilling adventure, but it still feeds you some Greek mythology facts so I suggest everyone on Earth to read this book!

This is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series. Percy Jackson fans can hold on for a while, Rick Riordan introduces 3 new demigods: Jason, son of Jupiter (Zeus's Roman form); Piper, daughter of Aphrodite; and Leo, son of Hephaestus. They go on a journey to save Hera who is trapped by a giant. (Hera is the queen of the gods and Zeus's wife).

This first book in the Heroes of Olympus series focuses on three demigods: Jason is the main character. He has amnesia and doesn't remember anything from his past. Piper, whose father has been kidnapped, and Leo, who sees the ghost of his first babysitter and has a power that is considered a curse. When they arrive at Camp Half-Blood, they are given a quest: rescue the queen of Olympus from a giant. While on the quest they have to face many challenges, such as gods, cyclopes, and resurrected characters from Greek mythology. I have to admit that at first I wasn't planning on reading this series, just because Percy wasn't on this book, but I'm now glad I did. This book is different from the PJO series, primarily because it has multiple points of view. This wasn't an issue. I enjoyed being in the mind of the three demigods and see through their eyes. Even though this is intended for an audience older than PJO, fans of Percy's adventures can still enjoy this book series.
