This book is amazing! It is about three different kids escaping their home countries to freedom. Isabel, a Cuban girl, is escaping in a small boat with her pregnant mother on board. The boat is built by family friends that were willing to lend a helping hand. Mahmoud, a Syrian boy, is escaping by foot and boat. He goes through many hard times on his long journey to Europe. Josef, a Jew, is escaping Nazi, Germany with his mother, father, and little sister Ruthie. He goes through challenges regarding his father who was captured and taken to a concentration camp where he was scarred for life. I made a connection to this book because I have read other books by Alan Gratz and with similar war-like themes. I would give this book a five-star rating because it is so enticing and makes you want to keep reading. I would recommend this book to 5th-7th graders.

Title :The Spiderwick Chronicles Book 2-5 Author : Tony Diterlizzi & Holly Black Genre : fantasy and fiction I chose 3 for my rating because it's just right for me. One thing that I found interesting was all the illustrations, they were so realistic. I would recommend this book to grades 3-7.

Dang. I keep reading these books, and thinking, "Books can't get any better than this. This has got to be the best one yet!", but these books are getting better and better. If, you haven't already, read this series. Seriously.

Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan have lived pretty normal lives. They are from the four different regions of Erdas, but nothing strange and amazing has ever happened to them. Until now. All four of them summon spirit animals-lifelong animal partners that make you stronger, and is extremely rare. not only that; their spirit animals are all Great Beasts—the most powerful kind of spirit animals that exist. They are the Four Fallen-the ones that died in the great battle against the Devourer. They have risen-but so has the Devourer. The four young kids are recruited by the Greencloaks to help fight evil, and defend the four corners of Erdas. They must come together and try to somehow stop the battles going on and the Devourer-before it is too late. In an enjoyable first book, The Spirit Animals series starts of with a mission to get the talismans before the enemy does. What I thought about this book: I thought this book was an exciting start to the series. It was enjoyable, and the world, characters, and plot that are created make for a great story. Brandon Mull’s writing was great, and the concept of this book was very unique and cool. I want a spirit animal! This book was slow at times, but the ending made up for all of it. The ending was breathtaking and sad, but it was the perfect ending. After I read it, I definitely wanted to continue the series. I can’t wait to read more Brandon Mull and Spirit Animals!

Luath, Tao, and Bodger are three house pets, a Labrador retriever, a Siamese cat, and a bull terrier. They want to be with their family, the Hunters, but they are on a trip to England. Meanwhile, their friend, John Longridge, is taking care of them. One day, Longridge goes to Heron Lake, over two hundred miles away. Luath, the Labrador retriever, decides to journey to the Hunters' house, and the other two follow him. The way there is across miles of remote wilderness, and on the way, they encounter many dangers. Will they reach their destination? Or will they get eaten by wild animals? I liked this book, but the beginning was a bit boring. I recommend it to anyone who likes books about animals.

I think the first interview was intriguing, but the next 100 pages or so were not that interesting, yet. (Pay a little attention to the word "yet".) Then, once the attacks begin, it reeeeaaaaalllllyyyyy picks up the pace. By that point, it was one of the most exciting books I have ever read, with breathless action and it feels like you can't take your eyes off. If you are willing to get there, then I would definitely recommend this.

What happened afterwards? After Jonas took Gabriel to elsewhere? I had always been a fan of the The Giver quartet. As I was reading this book, I felt like being a part of it since everything came along together smoothly and everything in the book seemed so familiar. If you had read The Giver, I recommend you to finish up this book as well! The reason why will simply be while recalling the exhilarating stories of The Giver, new adventures await. Since Son was written in a totally different point of view, you’ll find out exploring what was happening on the other hand very interesting. Well, not just the story itself, but also the lessons and things I had learnt from it, were all reasons this book is recommended by me. You’ll find out everything has a dark side no matter how perfect it seems. Enjoy the adventure of Claire, Gabriel’s mother, and let your soul be cleansed by her spirit!

this book is a total star! I loved it you should really read it! But you won't understand anything about it if you don't read The Name Of This Is Secret. But, besides that, this book rocks!!!

This book is so much fun, I recommend it to anyone!

I read this book because I read the second one as well. I thought it was pretty cool. The suspense the drama, the powers that Echo has. All the tragedies. All of the good things in a book is what this has.
