I read this book when I was in 9th grade, not as an assignment, but because I chose to. At first, it was difficult to adjust to the writing style, but after I got into the flow of it, I spent hours at a time completely immersed. I love novels that focus less on the plot and more on the characters and their motives for what they do, and this book definitely hit a sweet spot for me. Yes, it is easy to breeze past a paragraph and become completely lost, but if you take the time to process what’s going on, you will absolutely fall in love.

i do not get the book at all so i rate it 2 star sorry
On behalf of most children, this book is a horrible thing to assign to be read by children who aren’t used to reading anything like it. I myself hate this book, do not understand the plot or detail a single bit, and am going to 100% end up having this being the first failed assignment I’ve had in 6 years.
I'm enjoying this book so much, I am sure my #1 grandson will love it. As the cover indicates, this book is considered "THE WORLD'S GREATEST FANTASY CLASSIC". Though I've read many books and stories about "King Arthur", often referred to as "the Arthurian Legends", I'd never read TOAFK until now -- so I never realized how much wonderful HUMOR is woven throughout the book, along with belief-defying magic, coming-of-age adventures and character-building insights. I give it two wrinkly thumbs up and challenge my #1 to READ THIS BOOK!
